These Terms & Conditions apply to all students of Learnie Driving School (operated by Learnie Ltd). By booking lessons with us you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before your first lesson.
1. Eligibility & Licensing
You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence or a full driving licence recognised for use in the UK before any lessons can begin. No lessons will be provided without this.
You must present your licence to your instructor before your first lesson and whenever reasonably requested. Any penalty points, endorsements or restrictions on your licence must be declared to us immediately.
Failure to hold or disclose a valid licence will result in immediate termination of lessons and all related fees being charged.
2. Booking & Payment
All bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of payment by bank transfer. Bank details are provided in your booking confirmation email.
Payment is required in full before the first lesson of any package. Pay As You Go (PAYG) lessons must be paid at least 72 hours before the scheduled lesson. No lesson will proceed without prior payment confirmed.
All lessons must be recorded in the Learnie diary. Unconfirmed bookings will not be honoured.
3. Cancellation Policy
A strict 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all lessons. All lessons must be paid at least 72 hours in advance — cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled lesson will not be refunded.
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged in full
- Missed lessons or failure to attend without notice will be charged in full
- Lessons cancelled by Learnie (e.g. due to instructor illness, vehicle breakdown or extreme weather) will not incur any charge

4. Lesson Attendance & Waiting
Your instructor will wait at the agreed pick-up point for a maximum of 15 minutes. If you fail to attend within this time the instructor will leave and the lesson will be charged in full.
All pick-up and drop-off locations must be agreed in advance. If your usual pick-up point is unavailable (e.g. due to parking restrictions or road closures) it is your responsibility to notify your instructor so an alternative location can be agreed.
Your instructor will normally attempt to contact you by call or message before leaving.
5. Standards of Conduct
All students must behave with respect, courtesy and professionalism towards instructors, other road users and the public at all times.
Any abuse, aggression, rudeness, harassment, discrimination, or reckless behaviour will result in immediate termination of lessons without refund.
Students must follow all instructions given by their instructor to ensure safety and effective learning.
6. Fitness to Drive & Hygiene
Students must attend lessons in a clean and hygienic state. Poor hygiene may result in the lesson being refused and the full fee being charged.
Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn — flat, secure shoes only. Flip-flops, high heels or loose footwear are not permitted.
You must inform your instructor if there is any reason why you cannot drive safely or legally — including being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or prescribed medication that may affect your ability to drive.
Fitness to drive is assessed at the instructor's discretion. The instructor's decision is final. If the instructor believes you are unfit to drive the lesson will be terminated and the full fee charged.
7. Medical Conditions & Eyesight
You must declare any relevant medical conditions that may affect your driving to both the DVLA and Learnie Driving School. Failure to declare such conditions may result in immediate cancellation of lessons and all liability rests with you.
It is your legal responsibility to meet the UK DVSA eyesight standard — being able to read a number plate from 20.5 metres. If your instructor reasonably believes you do not meet this standard the lesson will be cancelled and the full fee charged.
8. Test Readiness & Driving Tests
Students will not be taken to a practical driving test unless their instructor confirms they have reached test standard. Test readiness is determined solely by the instructor's professional judgement.
Instructors reserve the right to refuse use of the training vehicle for a DVSA test if the student is not deemed safe or test-ready. Your instructor will discuss this with you in plenty of time and outline available options.
Booking or attending a driving test is not guaranteed until the instructor confirms readiness. Test day may incur a small additional surcharge.
9. Vehicles & Safety
Learnie Driving School will provide a roadworthy, fully insured vehicle for tuition. Students must not cause deliberate damage to vehicles. Any deliberate damage may result in repair costs being charged to the student.
Your instructor will make every effort to avoid accidents. However, where an accident occurs due to the student driving dangerously or ignoring instructor instructions, the student may be required to contribute to repair costs.
Learnie Driving School cannot accept responsibility for traffic offences, fines or penalties incurred while the student is driving — these are legally the sole responsibility of the driver.
10. Using Your Own Vehicle
Some students prefer lessons in their own car. This is permitted, however it is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy, has a valid MOT, is taxed and is insured for you to drive with an instructor supervising.
Please check your insurance allows your instructor to supervise you. Some policies have restrictions or minimum age requirements for supervising drivers. A hard copy of the vehicle insurance document must be available in the vehicle for each lesson.
Learnie Driving School accepts no liability for incorrect or inadequate insurance.
11. Liability
Learnie Driving School and its instructors accept no liability for injury, loss or damage to students or third parties except where directly caused by instructor negligence.
We are not responsible for DVSA test cancellations, delays or costs incurred due to external factors outside our control.
12. Pricing & Changes
Prices are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any service at any time. We will endeavour to give reasonable advance notice of price changes to existing students.
13. Data Protection
Learnie Ltd complies fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC130892. Personal data will only be used for tuition purposes and legal compliance. 14. Termination
Learnie Driving School may terminate lessons or this agreement immediately if:
- You breach any of these Terms
- You fail to make required payments
- You engage in misconduct or unsafe behaviour
No refunds will be issued in such circumstances.
15. Complaints
We hope you are delighted with your lessons. If you have a concern, please first raise it directly with your instructor. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, please contact us at [email protected] or 07368 294 567 and we will do our best to resolve the matter promptly.
If you remain unsatisfied, you may contact the DVSA or seek independent advice.
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17. Changes to These Terms
Learnie Driving School reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
